Translator introduction

It’s been about a year since I posted the translation for Yorimichi 2, time sure flies, doesn’t it?

With the completion of this book the entire light novel series is fully translated once again, hopefully that won’t be the case for long.

Of course there’s still a lot of Konosuba left to translate. As you may know, while Yorimichi 3 is a collection of brand-new short stories, the first two volumes are compilations of short stories released prior. And well, there’s still a lot of those short stories around left to translate, so hopefully you’ll hear more from me soon.

This book is rather interesting too because it commemorates an important anniversary of the series in Japan, originally releasing a few days prior to the 10th anniversary of the release of the first light novel. It’s fun to see how much Akatsuki and Mishima have improved their craft in all these years.

Special thanks goes to cheese from the Konosuba discord server for cleaning up the colored images and front cover, he really did a banger job.

Also special thanks to everyone that supported on Patreon and Ko-fi, translation is difficult and time consuming, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Afterword

This is the third Konosuba short story collection, thank you for buying this book!

The other two volumes consist of short stories released beforehand, this one is special, all short stories are brand new.

This is because by the time this book will be published Konosuba will be celebrating its 10th anniversary, you could see this is a commemoration of that. The very first volume was released in Japan on October 1st, 2013.

I would like to express my gratitude to all the readers for their continued support over the years.

Regarding chronology, well, that’s kind of iffy.

Konosuba was written with little space between each volume, so it can be somewhat difficult to write stories like this, but you can say that these stories take place after the seventh volume of the main series.

It’s still a mess with little cohesion, very much on brand.

When I reread older volumes, I feel like these guys haven’t changed since I started writing the web novel, it’s been a while since I’ve written about Kazuma and the gang, and it’s still a lot of fun to write them. I hope I’ll be able make more short stories in the future.

On a different note, a third season for the anime has been announced! I don’t know when it’ll air, but it’s supposed to happen in 2024.

It’s been a while since I watched the anime, but I’m looking forward to it, and I hope you are too!

I’d like to give my thanks to Miss Mishima, the editor, and many more people who all worked to get this book to your hands. This book is not only marks Konosuba’s 10th anniversary, but also my 10th year as a professional author, yet I still have to apologize for all the inconveniences I cause.

And most of all, I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you who read the book!
